The Mahdiyoun: Followers of the Antichrist?

The Mahdiyoun, or Mahdawiya, as they are called in Iraq, are a very small fringe Shia movement with scattered followers in major urban centres in the south, such as Basrah, Amara, Nasiriya, Samawa and Kut. Their leader is Sayyid Ahmed Al-Hassan, a former disciple of Muqtada’s father Ayatollah Mohammed Sadiq Al-Sadr from Tannumah in Basrah, and who declared himself the promised Al-Yemani, who according to Shi’ite lore is the vanguard of the twelfth Imam Al-Mahdi (Shi’ite messiah-like figure) and who will prepare for his return. I won’t go into the theological details, but it suffices to say that Ahmed Al-Hassan claimed to have met the Imam Al-Mahdi, that he is infallible, that he is more knowledgeable about the secrets and meanings of the Torah, the bible and the Quran than anyone else, that the Star of David is also the star of Imam Al-Mahdi and the descendents of Prophet Muhammed and that it should not be defiled by Muslims. He opposes the occupation, elections and the constitution because he considers himself the rightful ruler. And he contests the authority of supreme Shi’ite clerics, such as Sistani.

Free Book: Future Human Evolution

Evolutionary selection has been radically relaxed in the human species as a result of the development of civilization, science in general, and medicine in particular. While these advances have hugely benefited current populations, they have to a significant degree released the species from the biological process which created it and maintains its viability. Formerly, natural selection took place largely as a result of differential mortality, but now that most people survive well beyond their child bearing years, selection is determined largely by differential fertility. Aside from genetic illnesses, this new selection is also characterized by a negative correlation between fertility and intelligence–the core of eugenic concern for over a century.

The book's contents are directly relevant to the future eugenics research that will be led by the Antichrist.

Characteristics of the Antichrist

So... what does the Word of God have to say about all those symbols that define certain desires, characteristics, and plans of Antichrist? And does History confirm the prophecy authentic?

Free books by Arthur W. Pink

Arthur W. Pink (1886-1952) was born and educated in England. He wrote many works, covering many topics. He wrote two books on premillenialism, namely, "The Antichrist", and "The Redeemer's Return" (also online). It must be noted that A.W. Pink, later in his life, rejected many facets of premillenialism and dispensationalism as presented in these two works. This fact doesn't take away the value and truthfulness of these excellent books. I encourage you to benefit from them.

Free Ellis Skolfield's downloadable e-books

Ellis H. Skolfield is a conservative author and Bible teacher who received his theological training at Columbia Bible College, Columbia, South Carolina in the early 50s. He has written five books on Bible Prophecy, one on Multiple Personality Disorder and two on church ordinances. Better known in Africa than in the United States, Skolfield is now 78 and supposedly retired, but he still holds prophecy seminars in his home for church leaders, missionaries and Bible teachers.

Fish House has been publishing Skolfield's studies in Revelation since 1983. Some of his books are already out of print while others are considered standard reference works by many churches. Skolfield's latest book on Bible prophecy is downloadable from this site, as are several of his essays. Other books and papers are downloadable from our home site, www.fish-house.com.

The Antichrist Will Have The Support Of The False Prophet And Organized Religion

The Antichrist will be a governmental leader, and will ultimately set up a One World Government. The seven heads and ten horns are other kings or countries that will be involved in the empire of the Antichrist. The seven heads and ten horns are referred to as two separate parts of the whole. The reason that these are always referenced in this manner is that they will never fully blend into a single unit. The seven heads are Islamic kings or countries allied with the Antichrist. The ten horns will be represented by "Judeo-Christian" kings or countries, allied with the Jewish False Prophet (Pope).

The Future of The Papacy

In the event of John Paul's death or resignation, a new Pope will be chosen by secret ballot of the cardinals under the age of 80, who may vote for anyone among their members. One of the most intriguing questions is which nationality the next pope will be. The Polish-born John Paul was the first non-Italian pope in 455 years, since Hadrian VI (1522-3), and Vatican observers suggest the next pope may be non-Italian as well. John Paul has worked to elevate more cardinals from the developing world, increasing the possibility that one of them may eventually be pope. The highest proportion of votes, however, still remains with Europe with 48.9 percent of the electoral seats. Italy alone has the largest bloc of 23 voting-age cardinals.

United Nations of Religions?

Two years ago Pope John Paul II visited Kazakhstan in hopes of bringing the world's religions closer together. More recently, religious leaders from 18 different faith groups met in Astana, Kazakhstan to continue that vision with the creation of what some are hoping will become the United Nations of Religions.

In Perspective: What's the Difference Between Shi'ah and Sunni?

A veteran in Muslim evangelism who asked not to be named told CT that Shi'ites have been more likely to accept Christianity. "Historically in the heartland of Islam—the Middle East and North Africa—Iran has been by far the most responsive country to the gospel," the source said. "Most people believe that is because of the Shi'ite belief system."

Woodberry says there are interesting parallels between Shi'ah and Christianity. "What we have been seeing this month take place in Iraq is a commemoration in Karbala to recognize the death of Muhammad's grandson Hussein," Woodberry says. "His death to Shi'ites has a similar function to the way Christians look at Jesus."
